Moods

MoodsA shadow

The shape that is an echo

Has weight

It carries mood

Invention lurks where reason looks

For clarity and proof

And you stood there

Stock still against the light

Looking back

Hair, savage bright

And warmer than I’ve ever known

In the oblivion of our shared mood

Where loss was taking shape

Straying thoughts in the jagged light

Were omens

That I know now

Were parting shafts

Of light that lay in wait

For change.
